Hooptober 60 Chalenge: Lon Chaney Film
Christine Daaé isn't the brightest candle in the chandelier, is she?
Silent films are often a hard sell for me, and for long stretches this one left me cold. But every time we got an unmasked Phantom, I was all in; Chaney's make-up and performance were outstanding. I also enjoyed the intricacies of the Phantom's lair and deathtraps, and the color masquerade sequence was fun.
