Yes, this is very much "What if Sam Raimi made a Fargo?," and that's a fun thing. The Danny Elfman score is killer.
Perfect dumb Hollywood summer nonsense. It's super cheesy, has a pretty stupid plot, and is entirely predictable. It is also very much just Die Hard in the White House. But it's really fun, thanks in part to a game cast. This is easily Emmerich's most fun film after Independence Day.
