evanstewart’s review published on Letterboxd:
Carnival filmmaking at its finest. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I laughed all the way through the climax. Peele’s pop cultural smorgasbord grows more and more fresh with each new film. People complain about the lack of original movies, but when our best living filmmakers* all stick to telling stories in the past, the hype around him feels increasingly earned. He might never be the next Spielberg but he took his chance to make a wide screen picture and delivered. Will be seeing it again in IMAX before whatever’s next snatches up all the screens.
