    The Banshees of Inisherin

I just don’t like you no more.

Have you ever lost a friend? Or better yet, has someone just…abandoned you? Out of the blue? What would you do? How would you feel? These are some of the questions that The Banshees of Inisherin explores.

I’m going to tell a bit of a story. It’s not one I like to tell, but I think I ought to tell it. I’ve mentioned it before, but I think I should explain it in detail…

    The Whale

    People are amazing.

I like this one, I don’t love it. I think it’s a very powerful movie, yet also a little muddled at the same time. However, what I can’t deny is A) Fraser’s unbelievably phenomenal performance and B) the fact that it’s sitting with me at the moment (for scale, the movie got out over two hours ago but I have the feeling that I’ll be thinking about it for a hot moment). I recommend it alone purely…

  • M3GAN

I thought we were having a conversation.

It was fine. It was pretty funny in parts and I thought M3GAN was a great villain, but overall, eh. But that’s alright. It was ok and honestly probably what I needed after the nightmare that was Skinamarink. It also marks my first time theater hopping with my dad which is fun. Not much else to say about this one other than it was kind of enjoyable.

    Look under the bed.

    Story time.

It was March 2020. I was descending deep within the realm of YouTube horror. Shit like the Cursed Kleenex Commercial or even Hand Thing. Scary commercials very much so fascinated me as well. Stuff that terrified me a few years ago I now found really cool. I found it very fascinating how different this type of horror was. It was something unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. I was truly wrapped up into it…

Wherever we go, this family is our fortress.

I swear, nobody does this shit like Jim. I’m really excited to see the scope that the next couple of movies will have, because yeesh. This movie really does fill you with a sense of awe and seeing it in IMAX 3D greatly enhanced that. I would see a thousand of these if they made them. I don’t have a lot to say, but yeah, of course I loved this.

I also may or may not have developed a crush on Kiri but that’s not important.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish

    I am PUSS in BOOTS!

Absolutely breathtaking. When I first saw the trailer with Perrito, I thought to myself that his character was going to annoy me, but his character ended up being one of the strongest parts of the film. Puss is a great character as the film works as a deconstruction of his character while Kitty gets a ton of wonderful characterization. Every character in this film worked for me, but I wasn’t completely sold on it initially.…

1,000 films! At last! Thank you so much, LB community. I love you guys so much and I’ve met some of my absolute best friends through this site. Here’s to getting a thousand more films and making more memories with new people!

Oh, and as for the movie, it’s ok.

  • Babylon

It’s the most magical place in the world.

No words could properly express my thoughts. It feels like an overwhelming high and I’m still thinking about it and I’ll continue to do so for a while. Hilarious, dark, overwhelming, just to name a few of the adjectives than can be used to describe this movie. I can’t believe it exists. Damien Chazelle is a genius and he must be supported, so please, please, please, go out and see it. It’s…

America: Imagine the World Without Her

Lacks the batshit insanity that made Trump Card so amazing but my god this does have its moments, such as Dinesh basically saying that Obama being elected twice proves that racism in America has ended or Home by Phillip Phillips playing over footage of Reagan and the American Revolution. I would also like to add that a rock version of the Star Spangled Banner is playing during the credits.

I think by the end of the day, I need to go back to therapy for watching these fucking movies.
