I'm so glad I'm doing this Hooptober thing because I am getting a chance to watch some truly fucking good ass movies. I feel like this one's specifically going to need a rewatch soon as it's a bit more complex and well-made than I was expecting. This movie's trashy reputation and classic no-budget status suggested to me something more wooden and silly but instead this is a sick and freaky movie with a lot of darkness and a very convincing realistic streak. The performances here are great and as many others have noted Hooper's direction is absolutely fabulous. Stoked for Pt. 2 next.
