AFI Fest 2018 Movie #2
I was completely swept away by the first act, quiet and grounded even in the chaos and horror of tragedy and unexpected stardom. I loved every frame, Raffey Cassidy's performance, and the bond of sisterhood. Then, and I hate to say it, Natalie Portman came in and almost ruined it. Well, her and the writing. A little too over the top for my liking, it tore away from what I loved so much from the first half. But there's still enough to enjoy here that I can't take away what it accomplishes so well.
