    Some of this is so close to Guy Maddin that it’s distracting and it suffers by that comparison, but it’s still a v pretty and p funny movie.

    Also the top review on here says it’s “indebted to Elaine May,” I think solely because there’s a shy woman who wears glasses in it.

    Glad I waited a couple years to watch this because I had forgotten everything I’d heard about it and was genuinely surprised by a lot of it, even the basic concept. No kidding, I was literally like “What? That guy’s a doppelgänger? And they call him a shadow? Wow, just like the title of the movie.” I hope every movie is this good after I’m finally able to erase the rest of my memories.
