Early on I could tell this bleak drama wouldn't really be for me. The earlier portions felt awfully dull and needlessly messy with all the back and forth jumps in time. This applies to the entire film but I also wasn't a fan of the narration and anytime a preacher goes into religious screaming mode I zoned out. That said, there's a couple of tense moments near the end but it's all expected at that point. Also was nice to see Tom Holland in a different light. A bit surprised this managed to get a cast like this as a lot of them were underutilized.
