I remember the remake coming out and seeing the trailer in the cinema. My dad was clearly unimpressed by that trailer, since he joked that we could potentially still switch to a screening of that instead of the film we were about to see... and I honestly believed him and started passing the same offer to my friend who we had brought along to the film. My dad fortunately corrected me quickly enough.

I don't think the writer had a clue how mobile phones actually work, or phone records in general for that matter. The police seem to entirely forget that they can get the landline records very easily indeed and that would mean that they would know the exact times of any calls made. *sigh*
