Dune: Part Two 2024
Om nom nom nom nom.
The reason I love Villeneuve's take on Dune is because it feels less like a version by the director of Arrival, and more like one from the director of Incendies. The whole thing is one booming portent of doom and answers directly to many of the issues raised recently about the source text's dated values. That and the worm riding sequence is litty.
Shout out to Bowral's Empire Cinema, a quaint little venue that has the great quality of rattling whenever the bass hits. Really adds to the sense of awe.
