    I liked the meandering nature and the variance in pacing, very Murakami. In the last hour, it did come together for me. But there was a bit much of that Murakami in there. I would have traded a few scenes and storylines with just Masaki driving โ€“ like in the official music video for the OST โ€“ or generally with more of her story.

    The driving scenes and esp. the colors are just magic. The striking red car in frontโ€ฆ

    This should really be watched in conjunction with Tamako inย Moratorium โ€“ continues the story perfectlyโ€ฆ

    Iโ€™ll file Flying Colors under propaganda for a fโ€™d up education system, but I didnโ€™t expect anything from this kind of movie; so, all good. Was still fun to watch. I mean, who doesnโ€™t love a few good working hard montages. And at one point with the educational history mangas she might have even studied from a place of intrinsic interest and motivation and not just for gradesโ€ฆ but the restโ€ฆ oh well, still good vibes and supportive people all-around.

    Oh, and loved the Haru train move at the end!
