Uncut Gems

Uncut Gems ★★★★

Review In A Nutshell:

We are put into this swirl of chaos that is self-created by our protagonist, Howard (Adam Sandler), as he attempts to find a W in a world only willing to serve a loss. It extends much of that familiar suffocation and overlapping energy that choked their last film, Good Time, but doing so through a window of philosophy; an intangible concept that exceeds beyond Howard’s own perspective. Uncut Gems feels like an anti-thesis of Joe Swanberg’s Win It All. Where that sense of clarity is as empty as the odds that he is faced with.
