Felix Brown’s review published on Letterboxd:
I admire the sentiment and ambition - it’s in no way an easy task - and I think there’s a good and timely film to be made from this material. This just ain’t it. At all.
“It’s a bad time to be a nazi” is one of the tag-lines of the film. From watching this, I didn’t really get the impression that that’s even true. It’s just spineless.
Some scenes work, and I did laugh a few times, but I left the cinema feeling really, really sad. Everyone around me was laughing and saying how fun it was. Maybe I just shouldn’t be thinking about the real horrors and live in this cutesy world instead.
