EROTIC AND SOOTHING
The Double Life of Véronique is a film directed beautifully by Krzysztof Kieślowski. He manages to explore many themes, including the themes of love; romance; eroticism; and discovery, and directs this film in such a way to adequately portray these themes in this film.
Irène Jacob does a fantastic job with her performance in a leading role in this film. The use of sound in this film is mesmerising. The score is beautiful and the sound mixing and sound editing are meticulously engrained into this film and it is so satisfying to listen to. The screenplay is also fantastic! My only gripes with this film are fairly minor ones. The film editing was not perfect and there were some pacing issues. Other than that, this is a film that I have a strong desire to rewatch - but maybe not for a long while.
