As i was rewatching this for the first time since i watched it in theaters, i couldn't help but think this would be completely crushed by critics and social media if it opened in the current climate. It's the sad state of affairs we live in nowadays. It's not that the film doesn't express many elements and socio-political views welcomed by these communities, but when a work of art is not ideologically pure, it's downright evil and should be chastised, censored and get ridden off. Just do a google search and watch how many articles written more recently about the movie do exactly that. But you know what? It's still the same freaking great movie.
