Terence Hill could make watching paint dry seem fun. A Genius, Two Friends, and an Idiot is a fun parody of spaghetti westerns and acts as a companion piece to My Name Is Noboby.
Sleepy type grifter Joe Thanks, (Hill) carries out an intercreate plan to steal 300k from a Indian hating army officer.
While not quite as good as My Name Is Noboby, this is still a blast to watch, and has quite a few moments of its own.
Its also the last western Leone hand any involvement with.
Ennio Morricone provides the music, and Klaus Kinski has a small role as a gunslinger.
I look at this as an underrated gem of a spaghetti western. If you really liked My Name Is Nobody, you will enjoy this as well.

Few spaghetti Westerns were quite as plagued with production difficulties as this Sergio Leone-produced comedy. For one, neither Leone nor star Terence Hill got along with director Damiano Damiani in any way (and vice versa), often having furious disagreements with one another. The story, which Leone originally intended as a very black comedy inspired by the French film "Les Valseuses" by Bertrand Blier, somehow morphed into a very lighthearted caper movie that was just a confusing mess. Co-star Patrick McGoohan got a terrible sunburn during filming. And to add insult to injury, the film was one of three movies whose negatives were partially stolen from the laboratory when the thieves were trying…

there's only one composer that's able to convince me into watching a film and that's morricone. i was hesitating between two terence hill westerns, i started looking at the crew that had worked on both, and ennio was in this one. so i instantly put it on. it was fun enough to distract me for a good two hours! loved the ending.

Nobody ist der Größte, die Fortsetzung die eigentlich gar keine ist.
Er ist nur eine Fortsetzung dank der deutschen Synchronisation, im Original war es nicht die Absicht von Sergio Leone eine Fortsetzung zu machen, auch wenn er nur Teilregie machte.
Zuerst muss ich sagen, nach dem tollen Mein Name ist Nobody kommt in diesem Film, leider keine richtige Westernstimmung auf.
Bei den ersten 20 Minuten kommt noch eine gewisse Stimmung auf, dannch fühlt sich der Film eher wie ein "Patriotenfilm" an.
Die wie immer tolle Musik von Ennio Morriocone ändert an dieser Tatsache leider auch nichts.
Das Highlight / der Höhepunkt ist defintiv die Verfolgungsjagd am Ende. Hier stimmt alles, die Musik, Kamera.
Das muss man dem Film auf jeden Fall hervorheben.

A very loose sequel to My Name is Nobody. Ultimately, it's a spectacular mess! More like a cross between Gore Verbinski's The Lone Ranger and Heaven's Gate. So if you're a fan of those films, then this is a recommend.
The cinematography and production design are fantastic. For a spaghetti western comedy, the west looks dirtier, dustier, muddier and smellier than ever. The tone is everywhere, the story is convoluted and the run time is at least 20 minutes too long with multiple endings.
But still, I found it very charming with great set pieces, especially the explosive finale. The cast is fun. Terence Hill is classic. There's some memorable images like a brothel merry-go-round and a real non-CGI explosion of a mountain. A delightful score by Ennio Morricone.

In Norway (where I'm from) the name of this film translates to "My Name Is Still Nobody", implying that it's a sequel to "My Name Is Nobody". I don't know if it is or not, but I've always seen it that way. So compared to it's "predecessor", the film is not as serious and works more as an adventure film than a straight up western. It's still good though, by it's own right.

Völliges durcheinander und ein paar witzige Gags.
Während der Vorgänger Mein Name ist Nobody richtig viel Spass gemacht hat, enttäuscht der Nachfolger auf ganzer Linie. Bild und Ton sind ungefähr wie beim Vorgänger. Morricones Musik nicht mehr so stark aber immer noch gut. Ein paar Mal musste ich sogar kräftig lachen...aber das wars dann leider auch.
Das grösste Problem des Films ist die völlig abstruse Story. Sie besitzt kaum einen roten Faden, wirkt irgendwie zusammengewürfelt und verwirrt den Zuschauer bloss. Und das ist der Todesstoss für eine leichtherzige Komödie. Der Film wirkt so als hätte man ein paar witzige Szenen gehabt um die man dann eine Story entwickelt hat. Viel Sinn ergibt das alles nicht und die Charaktermotivationen noch viel weniger.
Nobody ist der Grösste kann bei Weitem nicht an seinen Vorgänger heranreichen. Wer Terence Hill mag darf einen Blick riskieren, da seine Auftritte Spass machen. Alle anderen sollten ihre Zeit dann doch besser mit einem anderen Film verbringen!

Zwei Jahre nach "Mein Name ist Nobody" produzierte Sergio Leone 1975 einen weiteren Western mit Terence Hill. Da "Nobody" schon nicht so recht funktioniert hatte, koennte man erwarten, das Leone es einfach nochmal probieren wollte, im zweiten Anlauf etwas harmonischeres fabrizieren wollte.
Weit gefehlt! In diesem Western gibt es gar keine ernsten Toene mehr, der Film besteht aus einer Aneinandereihung von Sketchen (Drei Drehbuchautoren!), ist reiner Bloedel-Klamauk. Um so vieles schlechter als die Spencer/Hill Filme jener Tage. Die wirre Story, die dann nach gut 45 minuten in den Film kommt, hilft da auch nichts, ist so zerfahren das der Hill Charakter sie dann am Ende gar selbst erklaeren muss. Soetwas wie einen Handlungsfluss sucht man vergeblich. Der Anfang des Films…

Terence Hill Vehikel das sich an den ersten Nobody Film anlehnt. Spielt dieser erste Nobody 1899, am Ende der Western-Ära, so befinden wir hier mitten drin im neunzehnten Jahrhundert, mitten drin in den Indianderkriegen. Auch die stilistische Ausrichtung des Films ist eine andere als in Teil 1. Wo der erste Nobody zwar leichtfüßig erzählt ist, aber eben im Grundsatz einen seriösen Ton anschlägt der ab und an durch die eine oder andere Albernheit (zuviel) gebrochen wird, da ist dieser Film beinahe ganz und gar Comedy. Den vergleichsweise komplexen, twistlastigen Plot nimmt man jedenfalls, und in diesem Punkt kackt der Film im Vergleich mit dem ersten Nobody wirklich komplett ab, nie ernst. Nach dem sehr guten ersten Teil habe ich hier sehr wenig erwartet. Und ja ich sehe es als Nachfolger zu "Mein Name ist Nobody", da Terrence Hill hier einen sehr ähnlichen Charakter spielt. Bevor ich den Film geschaut habe, wusste ich bereits, dass der Filmtitel nur in der deutschen Synchro etwas mit Nobody zu tun hat, aber beim schauen des Filmes ist mir dann aufgefallen, dass das erste mal, als Hills Charakter vorkommt, wird er "Joe" genannt. Anschließend nur noch "Nobody". Erst Tage nach dem Schauen des Filmes musste ich mich an die schlechte Synchro erinnern, die am Ende (beim Verteilen des Geldes), als im Original nichts gesagt wurde, einfach den kompletten Plan nochmal erklärt, was mir nur aufgefallen ist,…

One of the Italian westerns that must be seen as an early nail in the coffin of the genre. As the "spaghetti western" progressed comedy was infused into the films to try to prop them up. Here, the comedic slapstick destroys what could have been a fantastic film.
With Sergio Leone and Damiano Damiani directing, stunning photography primarily in Utah's Monument Valley, a Morricone score, and a good cast the film should have been an important chapter in the Italian western story.
Unfortunately the convoluted plot and terrible and completely unfunny screenplay almost ruin the film. The post dubbed dialogue of Patrick McGoohan sounds like a cartoon character on helium.
The final act, an extended chase with stunning scenery, goes a long way to saving the film.
