ESSENCIAL assistir, precisamos manter a memória VIVA.
Não ao retrocesso, não a ditadura.
THIS IS A MUST, we need to keep the memory ALIVE.
We can't retrogress, never again a dictatorship.
VIVA MUJICA! Ele não! Ele nunca! #elenão
reminded me of McQueens Hunger, just without the artistical rigour and efficacy. the first hour is dark, relentless and gritty - especially with the near-staccato a like editing of the suffering of our 3 protagonists. once they try lightening it up though, it slightly derails, ending with the obvious and expected text panel of "everything will be alright".
wish they would have trusted their instincts and go with the story of (political) passion to the end, but well, then again the ground material gave you too much of a hopeful storyline that you can go with mainstream wise I guess.
What is it with these stories that make me want to start the third world war?
Yeah, finally got my way around this film after having it on my Netflix for almost a year now... and was it worth it?
Let's just say the acting all around was great. I would personally have chosen much distinctive actors because even now I am still confused on what storyline was I following as at least two of the main actors kinda looked alike and at least someone mentioned their names, I would be confused who I was following. But despite that, their performances were great.
The story was well told. It starts a bit too slow and unfocus, but it eventually picks…
"and if this were my last poem,
rebellious and sad,
worn out but whole,
I would only write one word:
companion. "
"Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains within the sound of silence."
