Never quite sets up the motivations for our main character, so it fails the psychology bit of a psychological thriller. Otherwise competent filmmaking.

Definitely tried a little bit too hard to be edgey, but outside of that I really don’t have too much of an issue with the rest of the film. The only thing I can think of is that I went in expecting a slasher and that’s not as much of an issue as it is my own fault. While it isn’t a slasher till the last ten minutes, it is for sure a great sleazy film about a woman’s downward spiral. The sleazey and dirty feeling is akin to something of a 70s exploitation film. Alyce has to be one of the most underrated protagonists in low budget horror history as her descent into madness is nothing short of engaging. Great film, but don’t go in expecting a slasher from the cover like I did.

It's nigh on impossible to not think of both MAY and AMERICAN MARY when watching this bloody horror. That's both to this film's credit and detriment. Unfortunately it doesn't quite measure up to those two films, but I'm pleased it has a good go.

We follow Alyce and her fractured psyche after a terrible accident and the associated guilt that follows. It takes a little while to properly warm up, but when it does it's gold. Jade Dornfeld tackles the role with real relish, particularly the crimson-filled latter stages.

An interesting effort by Zombie Strippers director Jay Lee.

This was a lot like May, if May had a higher budget and slightly worse actors. It was a decent watch, even though the protagonist wasn't very sympathetic or relatable. Jade Dornfeld as Alyce works though as she makes you feel for her even when she's acting like a complete psycho. I was expecting a horror/slasher flick when I saw this on Netflix, but I was pleasantly surprised.

i actually did have this film wrong for the longest lol, expecting it to be a rly messed up flick. 

..which it is! but more psychologically, limiting the gore to make it effective where it counts. aka reserve the really messed up shit for the ending to round the psychological & please the gorehounds.

There are hints throughout that "Alyce Kills" is supposed to be some sort of dark take on Alice in Wonderland, but aside from the character names not too much is done with the concept. Despite a few fleeting moments of creepy surrealism, the film feels mostly pointless. For the most part, this is just a bunch of awful people treating each other horribly until a bunch of them are dead, and then the movie’s over.

The first half hour of this movie goes very slow and seems to have little value in the plot. After that it's just kind of dumb. Not impressed. I just wasted an hour and a half on this one.

Gee whiz, this is one fucked-up movie. I felt a big ball of anxiety, disgust, and excitement kept growing in my gut throughout this, so if you're the odd sort who craves that kind of feeling from a movie experience, don't sleep on this one.

the last 15 minutes or so are the only thing that I found marginally entertaining about this mess of a film). Trying way too hard to shoe-horn elements of "Alice in Wonderland" into a gritty tale of Alyse accidentally throwing her friend, Carol, off a high-rise apartment complex and then spiraling downward herself (figuratively) is daft as it is boring.

Like somebody writing 'inde flm', I get the overall idea of Alyce Kills but there's a lot that's left out.

Because Alyce Kills is character driven and not story driven, it works better as a character study than a horror film. Unfortunately, to pull that off, there needs to be clear motivation, but sadly all Alyce seems to be motivated by is trying to shock us.

ALYCE KILLS portrays a young woman's dive into madness after she knocks her best friend off an apartment building by the end of a night of wild partying.
Unfortunately, Alyce remains an inaccessible, uninteresting character, as do all supporting characters. Once she takes care of them by the end of the film there was neither a feeling of shock, satisfaction or sorrow for me, it just didn't matter or feel like a logical step in the narration or for Alyce's character. Also, the film looked quite ugly.

It's not as good as May or American Mary but it definitely has those kind of vibes. I've rewatched this quite a few times now and I still enjoy it every time tbh.

This tries to do some reference to Alice in Wonderland initially, but any connection is extremely loose. It's extremely disappointing because the accidental death could have lead to so much more. I wanted to care. Alyce just does everything to be unlikable. Her reaction at the end is pretty fun.
