"the silence around it is louder than usual."
very close to, if not pitch perfect cinema;
entirely encapsulates Our grief, Our dejection,
Our self-loathing, Our distrust, Our vulnerability
to the Natural, the Artificial; Our fears, Our desires.
both Our everyday interactions, the importance of
the Terrestrial, as well as Our curiosities, Our need
to know exactly what is lurking behind the curtain,
the dark hiding in secrecy, away from public view;
or if that curtain is simply the curtain of Our psyche,
Our identity, mutated, melted and metamorphosed.
"it's a trick of the light."
everyone else can talk about metaphorical deep meanings and narrative i'm here to beg gina rodriguez to top me
ANNIHILATION is like if Björk directed a remake of THE ABYSS.
...that’s obviously an endorsement. how *much* of an endorsement I don’t really know right now.
Fifth viewing in under thirty hours: (amongst an array of other themes) a flawless allegorical tackling of the inexplicably self-destructive nature of cancer -- with the bold belief in some sort of existence beyond death; that said obliteration is, in fact, merely an alteration, that dying is a simple change, rather than a conclusion -- as well as the perseverance, and resilience that it takes to overcome such a relentless & incomprehensible disease. I miss you, Dad, but I can still feel your presence enveloping me everyday, in everything.
when people say re-arrange my guts i can only think of oscar isaac in annihilation opening someone's stomach to rummage his intestines
