me: james mcavoy??? yeah... used to be obsessed with him idk why
me, after rewatching becoming jane: James McAvoy (/ˈmækəvɔɪ/; born 21 April 1979) is a Scottish actor. He made his acting
PETITION FOR JAMES MCAVOY TO ONLY DRESS HIMSELF LIKE HE WAS LIVING IN THE 1800s
there is a scene in this movie where james mcavoy reads victorian smut to anne hathaway and tbh nothing has ever been sexier
in which james essentially plays darcy and a very niche sexual and romantic fantasy of mine is fulfilled - god bless the slightly curly hair, the blue eyes, the smile, THOSE ALMOST KISSES and the bloody good chemistry
james mcavoy I think it’s time for you to settle down and do a period drama or two again sir
"Affection is desirable. Money is absolutely indispensable."
Becoming Jane comes no near to Austen's own tales - but has a sweet story, and a creative twist on a part of Austen's life. Anne Hathaway looks her part as Austen, however Hathaway's atrocious accent, and the tone of her voice - unfortunately takes away a little of the authenticity of what is presented on screen. On the other hand, James McAvoy is fantastic as Thomas Lefroy, he goes beyond looking the part (which he most certainly does) - but shines in every scene that he is in. Despite Hathaway lacking the verbal capabilities, her and McAvoy have a chemistry which drives the film nicely. Period dramas are one of my favourite…
I love this style of film. I would love anything Anne Hathaway is in, but this movie is particularly exquisite. I have always been fond of Jane Austen, classic literature and romance stories as good as these. The film was beautifully cast, well scripted en nearly faultlessly filmed.
Life just looks so easy in the 1800s...
The decor, the costumes, damn near perfect!
No sé para qué sigo viendo películas ambientadas en el siglo XIX si nunca me terminan gustando. Lo mejor; el final
Beautiful and heartbreaking
Every time I watch this I’m sure I lived this life and I know I don’t belong in the 21st Century 😞
Not as great as Pride & Prejudice that she wrote. But from this point of view I can tell Jane Austen is THAT BITCH. Periodt.
objectively speaking the film is disappointing as it centres Jane Austen’s life around a man and for some reasons Anne Hateway’a accent is just weird ?
However the chemistry between her and James McAvoy is here and I enjoyed way too much him reading Victorian smut in the library and his slightly snarky comments during the ball scene
That one dance scene where James McAvoy sneaks in the dance with Anne Hathaway has my heart. Gives me butterflies.
A star-studded cast that would lead you to believe this movie should be amazing. However I do feel it lacks some thing and I’ve been feeling that way a lot lately about movies but it’s true. And if you’re truly a fan of Jane Austen you know how the movie will end so there’s not really any suspense. All the actors and actresses do a great performance the cinematography is very standard for a period piece and so is the costuming but there’s just no originality.
loved it
james mcavoy in this 🦋🦋🦋
his last look at the end before he clapped made me tear up, just that slight change of facial expression
anne hathaway amazing as always!!!
in my top 3 period pieces for sure
this might become my next obsession oops
Btw as an additional note I would like James McAvoy to stop starring in positively tragic romance dramas because my heart cannot take this shit
