Josh Forbes' "Contracted: Phase 2" is a horror sequel that is at its best when it is in full-bore, slow-burn, skin-crawl mode. The film, about a sexually transmitted malady whose infection manifests in terrifically horrific ways, is the kind of creepy, icky, piece of gross-out that genre fans will eat up. However, the effective elements of the film are often cancelled out by the work's questionable plotting and low-quality flourishes.
