nicholas braun calling someone "gay ass greg" ... the call is coming from inside the house
this movie is a piece of shit and i have a headache
the THINGS i do for dakota johnson....
we need to launch an investigation into why nick braun gets butt ass naked in situations unrelated to sexual activity in every single r-rated film he’s in. i’m not complaining but ?
“We should save this brownie and eat it as a reward for getting laid at prom!”
just realized that this is from the same director who made the recent noah centineo netflix romcom The Perfect Date and now things make a lot more sense lol. barely any of the comedy hits and the characters are very unlikable.
i was keen for this to be over already when one guy the lead duo (a solid 3/10) broke up with sarah hyland (10/10) cause she wouldn’t fuck him. add to that, he’s casually homophobic through the entire film as if the lowkey terrible gay rep wasn’t enough in itself. Dakota Johnson is easily the best part but her character gets paid dust. i did this for her 😔✊🏼
Date and Switch is a well intentioned teen sex comedy, with the simple premise of "getting laid before prom" simply subverted by one of the two central characters telling the other he's gay. The social awkwardness on display is very realistic (I'm gay and the majority of my friends are straight guys, so the comedy rings somewhat true for me) and it never comes close to being homophobic. Supporting performances from the likes of Nick Offerman ensure there are plenty of chuckles to be had, spread across the running time.
But it *does* seem to take a disliking to camp/feminine gay guys, repeatedly acknowledging a preference for the perceived normal of "straight acting" guys. This is clearly to subvert stereotypes…
why does whoever wrote this dislike feminine gay guys so much?? why would you do this to dakota johnson??
i can't believe both aziz ansari and june from don't trust the b in apartment 23 had cameos in this and i still hated it.
