Not a road movie, not a western revival, but a "cowboy" melodrama with an overexploited "family reunion" concept worth only of the below-average Hollywood productions. Oh, Wenders, where did the brilliance of your portrayal of existential crisis go?
-Music? Uhm... Nice main theme.
-Resolution? Absurd, just like the whole development. Absurd, clichéd and boring.
-Characters? All of them are trash, but Sarah Polley's character of "Sky" is heavenly (no pun intended) and Tim Roth is an absolute reservoir dog!
-Any good moment? Well, maybe the final monologue takes the cake as we see Wenders' ability to construct a good character.
...just one good character.
A Palme d'Or nomination, eh? Ah, well, we all make mistakes.
