The pace at which this beautiful rural storyline is unveiled is something to behold. It just breathes line after glorious line of subtle and dreamy narrative across the most gorgeous landscapes.
It's a simple story, and one that is well trodden already, but there's something different here. Yes, Margot Robbie is her brilliantly engaging self and yes, Travis 'Ragnar Lothbrok' Fimmel's eyes are creepy as all hell, but it wasn't the actors that made this come alive for me. I was just mesmerized by the soft and delicate photography, the costumery and the luscious soundtrack.
If Saint Maud, Nomadland, or Minari ever get a release in Oz (aargh!), this might change, but for now this is one of my personal favourites of the year so far. Loved it.
