I can't say for sure why this animation style used here, but the way it's reminiscent of Beavis and Butthead and King of the Hill creates a disjointed feeling when you realize this is a dark and somber story of toxic masculinity, repressed homosexuality and abuse. To me, it worked perfectly, transporting me back to my childhood with its style. It reminded me of a time when society more accepted that type of behavior and a time I was subjected to it more.
Belgian animated short that reminds me, visually, of King of the Hill. But there's not much comedy here, it's a very dark examination of a toxic male teenage 'friendship' between an older teenager and a younger one who looks up to him and tries to copy him, which allows the older one to get away with being a horrible, bullying shit.

Harmony Korine meets Nicolas Winding Refn meets Beavis & Butthead meets Daniel Clowes.
An interesting film depicting a toxic friendship and toxic habits. The ending man, that got me.
Weird but ‘i liked it’ weird. The use of aspect ratio is nice in this.
I was quite excited to see this film, but I felt really uncomfortable when it reached to the plot that the Chinese restaurant owner was arrested because of a dog or cat in his fridge. How should I put it? The film was in many festivals and received a lot of awards, and this cliche still plays smoothly. Perhaps the prejudice would never disappear if we still subtly accept many racists cliches. To be honest. The film also did not gave me a good reason to forget about this until the end.
A somber and offbeat animated short by Nicolas Keppen about two guys trying to get money to find lost exotic birds in the hope to get a mountain bike as it is also a study of masculinity and loneliness.
