I skipped GHOST OF FRANKENSTEIN and I guess I shouldn't have. Bela Lugosi is the monster in this one, and also blind apparently. This is where the classic Frankenstein walk, arms stiffly outstretched, comes from. Blind Ygorstein!
As a Frankenstein movie it's almost worthless. He's not a character, he's just a henchman. He's not played by Karloff, though it's interesting to see Lugosi in the role.
But it's a pretty good wolfman movie. Cheney is great as the morose and lumpy Larry Talbot, the most interesting part of the wolfman movies. I know people love the makeup from these, and I do too for most of them, but I think the worlfman makeup is sooooo goofy. What's great about the character is this poor guy living with knowing he's a sleepwalking murderer. That's the good stuff and that's mostly what you get here.
Had a good time with these but I'm ready to move on. Cushing, here I come!!
