I remember this coming out straight to VHS in 1999, I was caught off guard and had to see it. It was that day I got my first taste of sequel let down.
I haven’t really seen it in 20 years, so I don’t remember a ton. I remember it has Robert Patrick.
OK, the first scene has Bruce Campbell and Tiffany Thiessen. So it appears we have ourselves a B-Movie!
The quality could never be Rodriquez or Tarantino, but boy does it try to be, right down to the soundtrack. The dialogue is quick, and hip, but falls flat, just like every comedy moment. Flat.
It’s extremely silly, but I can also see it growing on me with a few more watches, maybe with friends. It might cross that absurdity line.
I don’t remember much about the FDTD sequels, but I do remember this being better than 3.
