My goodness, although Grant is as charming as always, and I even think he did a few of those back-flips, he just couldn't compete with Hepburn's wattage. She is a goddess.

Barry's play is really a marvel, pitting a pair of free spirits against the tyranny of "vested interests" (as Johnny puts it at one point) without making the former seem overly moonbeam-ish or the latter entirely disagreeable. Certainly it helps that everyone involved is insanely privileged—Johnny's ostensible sin involves (temporarily) retiring rich rather than striving to get filthy rich, not taking some idealized vow of poverty. A schism within a rarefied world.
