immediately after i watched this sweet, uplifting short, i heard a lady on tv saying she believes her son is "mentally ill" because he's gay. how can people be so fucking ugly and hateful? the only consolation is that her whole close-minded, bigoted, ignorant generation will die out soon, and gay kids will watch more films like this one and realize that the love they feel for people of the same gender is normal and beautiful.

It's so rare that we get sweetness. We get tragedy. We get trauma. We get ostracized. We get, sometimes, some semblance of a victory, even. But we rarely get sweetness, tenderness, innocent love and joy. We rarely get our childhoods acknowledged, not like this. There's no abuse. There's no violence. There's very little humiliation, no more so than any other kid this age would go through, as far as we can tell. There's very little danger, no more than any other kid acting on a crush. There's very little drama. It's just cute. What a gentle little film.

you know how sometimes, if you're sad enough, it's as if you can feel your whole heart grow heavy in your chest cavity? like the ribs and sternum caging that tired muscle might really break?

and you know how sometimes, when you've got a Crush-with-a-capital-C on someone, it kind of feels the same? you've got jitterbugs in your gut. you're flushed. the difference between elation & dread grows smaller with each exhausted, wired yawp of your heart.

this short feels like solace for every time i've thought my heart has really been broken. this short feels like falling in love in a prelapsarian world; that is, there is no pain, there is no sorrow, there is only goodness & a forgiving light.

also i've had a long day so yah i bawled my eyes out what the fuck do u want me to do about that

Can you believe that this 4 minute short film about a gay boy falling in love had more emotion and heart than most full length films do in 2 hours?

i want to see this as a full length film. we need more LGBT-positive but child appropriate films like this to show kids that it’s okay to be who you are and someone, somewhere will always accept you.

Cute, little short. Plot is simple but effective, and I think it delivered.

This film is interesting and animated extremely well with a wonderful score, however I wasn’t the biggest fan. Just not super compelling story for me personally however I can see how it would be to others.

i just had to remind myself that this exists and everything’s not too bad

Also update (even though I don’t think anyone looks forward to my reviews): I’m working on something that I’ve procrastinated on for way too long, I hope I’ll be able to watch films normally in a couple of weeks. Until then :>
