What gets me most about this fucking film is really just the act of looking back at a time where someone could write a concept blog with no pictures or videos or ostensive proof of them actually doing the project attached to it, and build an entire ass fanbase over people just taking their word for it!! The 2000s, truly a wild time for the internet at large.
Overall it's pretty cozy and there are some nice warm visuals, but I honestly just found Meryl Streep's whole performance in this to be really insufferable & hammy in a way that made every sequence outside of amy adams' timeline really tough to get through. Could just be that I don't have the connection to Julia Child's impact to enjoy what's here the way others do, who knows!
It's a burnt boef bourguignon / 10 from me
