Best known as the scriptwriter of THE FARMER(which has yet to receive a DVD/Blu ray release),Patrick Regan made his sole directing feature with this psychic power themed low budget thriller that makes liberal use of the zombie subgenre as it depicts what happens when a man(Will Rand) who home schools his psychic power attired children([Regan's real life twin kids] Patrick III and Nell Regan[PRIME SUSPECT]) at his far remote house gets murdered when a quartet of bikers(Chester Grimes[BIG TROUBLE],Jed Mills[NEW YEAR'S EVIL,A MAN CALLED RAINBO{a.k.a.: REBEL,NO PLACE TO HIDE}],Gay French,Robert Dryer[SAVAGE STREETS,THE BORROWER{1991}]) invade the front yard of his home, resulting in the kids using a combination of both their powers and a voodoo book that guides them to resurrect their…
Psychic twin kids resurrect their dead dad to wreak havoc on their foes. This film is like Bloody Birthday and The Children crossed with The Gollum and Carrie. But really, it's not as good as any of those: It's early 1980s made for video weirdness that I imagine had a super creepy box to make up for what it lacked inside. There's even a cheaply endearing Casio keyboard sounding score to spice up the proceedings. I just wished the Vestron Video logo was around somewhere. This was good only for the nostalgia of adventures in movie going at the video store. Though I would have been more disappointed in this movie then, especially because there was no gore.
Awesome low budget Canadian thriller about two weird ass kids who fuck people up with their minds
Twin brother and sister see their father murdered by filthy bikers from San Francisco and with their combined powers of telekinesis they raise him from the dead to take revenge. They also take long walks hand in hand, coordinate their outfits and enjoy eating yogurt. Super fell in a lo-fi low-key way (with a killer analog synth score) this is the thowed version of Return to Witch Mountain.
Yet another best worst movie ever. Michael and Beth (the director's kids) are two little kids who are homeschooled by their professor dad. He keeps them out of regular school because they have various paranormal powers (telepathy, telekinesis) and people will "put needles in their heads". They use their abilities to put away groceries and retrieve frisbees, but when dad is being killed by bikers it's "oh no we're not supposed to use our powers". When the drunkass landlord shows up, they do a WEEKEND AT BERNIES and resurrect dad... who kills the landlord. Zombie dad can also drive a car, burrow under sand, and kill bikers, surfers and hippies. New deputy Fabian is on the case. Marilyn Burns (TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE) is the social worker assigned to the kids. So incredibly bad and unintentionally hilarious.
Bikers crash a Jacuzzi at a remote homestead that is lived in by a dad and his two special kids. The dad attempts to clear the bikers when bad things start to happen.
This movie involves telekinesis, zombies and bad people who deserve to die.
Fabian is a deputy in a small resort town. Marilyn Burns is a social worker sent to check on the kids in care of the dad to see how his home schooling is doing. Marilyn looks quite lovely.
The kids are the director's son and daughter. The boys acting is better than the girls (bit still not good), the girl is robotic and barely moves her lips when she talks.
The editing is bad in…
boring terribly acted schlock
two telekinetic children witness their fathers death and are pursued by the killers so they dont report it.
interesting note: they zombify their father in the original voodoo sense. not as a brain eater but as a slave to do their bidding.
they seem to be mildly indifferent to the fact that their father died and they have him doing random stuff like taking them to the beach, scaring off asinine surfer dudes that cussed them out and eventually have him dig his own grave. pretty wild yall
the score has interesting touches of electronic post-disco proto-techno, which i appreciated.

Embarrassingly amateurish garbage (especially considering it was made by professionals "on break" due to an actors guild strike). Not really even very much fun in the so-bad-it's-good vein. Feel free to skip this one.

I wanted to give this a higher rating. It means well. It just falls a little flat. Two kids with psychic abilities watch their father get murdered by bikers. They bring him back to life and make him drive them to the beach (and sometimes kill people). Concept alone, Kiss Daddy Goodbye should be a classic, but unfortunately its execution leaves a lot to be desired. When I first started making films in high school, I would always leave in really long scenes of people walking or driving to locations - I had no concept of ellipsis of time and filled my short films with unnecessary information. Kiss Daddy Goodbye reminded me of that. There's lots of shots and scenes…
