We’re all the main characters in each of our own Terrence Malick films…
I’d be lying if I said I understood this film, but what does it matter when it’s absolutely beautiful and poetic like nothing else? KNIGHT OF CUPS is Malick at his most quintessentially 'Malick'; his most poetic, most abstract, and most stream-of-consciousness film yet.
That being said, I loved this movie. A lot. This film has got to have some of the best cinematography of all time, period, and the main theme of this film - I believe it's called 'Exodus' - is what I believe to be one of the greatest songs ever composed.
I'll have to let this one simmer for a little bit. Would very highly recommend if you're a fan of Malick and want to see something even more experimental than TREE OF LIFE.
(also, MASSIVE bonus points for that General Briggs, a character from Twin Peaks, cameo)
