Before Snatch, Guy Ritchie made Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels first. Both films follows the same formula and style (heist premise, criss-crossing storylines, overabundant characters, smash cut editing, witty British lines) - and it is absolute madness. If I had to choose though, I pretty much prefer this one because it's funnier, smart, less confusing, and way more fun.
Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels is fucking clever from start to finish. Guy Ritchie develops these seperate characters and their storylines, then masterfully intertwines them together to form a highly entertaining crime craper full of ironic twists. The assortment of eccentric and colourful characters were all fun to watch.
The film also never loses its wicked sense of humor. The witty British banters being sprinkled throughout were delightful to the ears. The ending is also unforgettable.
Yeah, this is now one of my favorite comedy films.
