Heard joke once:

Man bursts into tears. Says,

"But doctor...I am Yorgos Lanthimos."

In just 90 seconds Lanthimos teleports us into a world where differences are still straightened out by an old fashioned duel, long gone are the days of talking things through in Yorgos' world of Necktie it's straight down to the point. The short is able to deliver a whole host of emotions, most prevenently an overwhelming sense of entitlement, the girls schoolyard disagreements are so important in the grand scheme of the world that it is worth taking another persons life to resolve it. 

"I have more memories than if I was a thousand years old" in one line Lanthimos delivers an incredible gut punch that leaves you scrambling to find out the answers that lie before the confrontation.

For such a drastic and beautiful directorial style to come across so poignantly in just 90 seconds is an incredible feat for any director, be it an amateur or a master.
