"People die when they become irrelevant to the world or when the world becomes irrelevant to them".
My first Bengali movie .. honestly it was rlly good but very depressing, and there is still a whole lot of mystery n ambiguity attached as the credits roll.
Direction wise, there are parts it could’ve been executed better especially as the movie suffers from some pacing issues given the aimlessness of the plot.
All in all, the acting n cinematography was great regarding the complex social issues this film tries to address.
"When does a man die? When he stops communicating with his loved ones"
It goes without saying that this movie was long anticipated to be made available for masses, though technically it released 4 years back, and now more so, because of the untimely demise of Irrfan Khan.
So, this movie left me feeling bittersweet about it.
Bangladeshi director Mostafa Sarwar Farooki, who adopts and adapts a scandal that once shook the conservative Bangladeshi society, this movie wants to touch upon a lot of themes, ranging from conflict of the mind and the body, love and longing, life and death, and fails to fully justify any of them.
The movie has some really beautiful moments and conversations, but it never…
Outstanding Cinematography 👏👏👏
The pacing of each scene was slower and longer than the usual - அவை ஆழமான, அழுத்தமான பதிவுகள்.
It is sad that Irrfan Khan is no more with us to give such wonderful performance.
My highlight of this movie was the cinematography. Those wide shots through windows and trees set the mood perfectly, and I think played into the idea of the audience as a character in the story, acting as the public investigating celebrity's private lives for their own entertainment.
Highly recommend for instant brain-snooze, 100% success rate.
1 star for Tisha’s efforts, and -50 stars for wasting our king Irrfan Khan’s talent on this steaming pile of garbage ripped off of the pages of Bangladeshi tabloids. So long, Mostafa Sorowar Farooki.
মানুষ মারা যায় তখনই যখন প্রিয়জনদের সাথে তার যোগাযোগহীনতা তৈরি হয়।
My throat caught up every time when Tisha cried.
No Bed of Roses is slowly paced and unsatisfactory in its second half and ending, but the first half is great and the movie is particularly strong in its storytelling approach that focuses on the complex emotions in a marriage after cheating happens. The performances are terrific, especially that of the great Irrfan Khan, and the cinematography is quite accomplished, particularly in the framing of certain shots.
