Pooja Mathew, a spirited young girl, wants to have a love marriage in her life. Thus, she stops at nothing to impress Giri, who saved her once from a group of unruly men.
A true blue chick-lit romantic comedy that doesn't have to be taken too seriously, for it delivers a fair bit of time pass entertainment throughout its entire running time. The only change the makers can claim is to have narrated the tale from the perspective of a girl, making her the center of attention and they have managed to come up a decent product leaving a tiny smile on your face.
It narrates the tale of Pooja Mathew, a rich tomboyish girl who persists on her love towards her high school crush who does not reciprocate the same, and how the guy relents to her perseverance forms the crux of the plot. Nazriya looks super cute and has gotten into…
A cute film which brims with a lovely performance by Nazariya ❤️. Works because it subverts the roles given to the male and female genders in our society.
P.S - The Chinese scene could have been avoided since it comes across as highly offensive and politically incorrect. Also Kaho Na Pyaar Hain and Dil Chahta Hain released a year apart 😁
I think I love this film more every time I see it, mostly because, I think, of Midhun Manuel Thomas's writing. The whole female gaze, turning relationships on their heads, and all the little movie references (mostly Malayalam, like Spadikam and Niram, but also some Hindi references, as well as a nod to Shaktimaan) just make it a joy to watch.
Stereotypical characters but the screenplay makes it a refreshing experience. This is one uncynical love story with a happy ending that is really enjoyable.
Ohm Shanthi Oshaana flips the boy-stalking-girl routine on its head and patiently gleans a charming romantic comedy that fizzles out towards the end of the second act. Nazriya plays the character of Pooja with childlike exuberance in her teenage and with mellowness & sagacity in her adulthood. It's a coming of age for both, Nazriya's character and her love for Giri.
The only reason to watch this movie was because Nazriya is in it. She's one of the natural actress and her expressions are just beautiful. The entire movie was superb especially the climax. Loved it!
This movie is so engaging and that u literally get into the story. The female lead character compels you to listen to her love story and its a worth watching movie. The movie ends with "Men never forget their FIRST LOVE"❤️
Feel Good Movie. The direction is amazing and so is the cinematography. Best thing is the BG score: the diverse use of popular film songs & melodies gives a wonderful effect to the whole drama. I laughed my stomach off quite a few times because the humor is not only comic but also fresh. The scenes have been captured well to tell the story which has nothing hidden or hideous about it. just pure fun love story!!
feels very fresh. i love any rom com where the roles switch so the female is the more interesting and nuanced character and the male lead is just hot and boring.
Nivin Pauly is so hot!! What is this! Especially in the first half! Obviously the lead swoons over him!
This was such a cute story! Nazriya is a wonderful actor! She has great comic timing and totally draws you into her character!
Loved the movie! Also so glad with how the movie ended. Some realistic crap would have broken my heart. Jus wish there wasn't Hindi music in the background... It's an ultra Malayalam movie!
The most fresh Malayalam film I have ever seen, since Thattathin Marayathu. Unlike, the latter, where it is a typical love story, the former is one of the unconventional and cool romantic comedies I have ever seen.
The film's popular culture references, very good screenplay and jokes, and the most energetic actress anybody has seen makes the movie an unforgettable experience. Nazriya is absolutely brilliant as the bubbly Pooja along with Nivin Pauly as the silent Giro and the very talented Aju Varghese.
^ - The Manichitrathazhu reference
OHM SHANTHI OSHAANA is just a really nice, comforting, amusing film with a super charismatic Nazriya Nazim in the lead.
a type of lovely rom com you don’t get to see too often in indian cinema. Displays a refreshingly sweet dynamic that stands out

Ohm Shanthi Oshaana is romance drama of Pooja Mathew (Nazriya). The film is simple and predictable, but the writing makes it refreshing. The story is narrated from the female perspective. All the actors from Nazriya, Nivin Pauly to the support cast's performances adds some freshness to this film. The writing and performances sells this predictable romance drama.
My all time favorite Malayalam movie. Never boring, really a feel good comedy and romance movie. Love it a lot...❤️❤️😍😘
