Rest In Peace, Joel Schumacher.
Wow, what a thrill ride this was.
I loved how this was essentially a single setting movie yet still had such a frenetic yet crisp pace to it.
I also appreciated the miniature frames of what was simultaneously going on around the phone booth, that felt pretty original.
I’m sure it was because it wasn’t that long ago that I saw Inside Man but I thought for sure the voice calling the phone booth was Clive Owens. But hence ‘‘twas not.
Colin Farrell & Forest Whitaker were both great. I can’t imagine it was easy shooting most of the movie in a phone booth but this is a great Colin Farrell performance.
And that quick plot twist at the end: top notch.
Overall, a great thriller of a movie that went far behind what I was expecting going into it.
