the scene with the lizards running away from all those snakes was more dramatic than eight seasons of Desperate Housewives
ok but the fact that the newborn iguana knew to stay still so that the snake wouldn't detect any movement with its shitty eyes........you were born 3 minutes ago!!!! how the fuck did you know to do that!!! that baby iguana is smarter than me and has a stronger survival instinct to boot
It would be cool to see these places with your own eyes, but it’s better to watch Planet Earth II because their cameras are better than your bad eyes and David Attenborough’s narration is better than your dumb thoughts.
I had to stop watching Planet Earth II because it made me too crazy! It would just be like "here's a super HD shot of a teeny tiny animal" and I was like AHHHHHHHHH
Films Watched in 2020 - Film 79
I never watch TV but maybe I should start watching limited series like this as I found it really relaxing to put on an episode in between films to break them up a little. Maybe I don’t know enough about animals but some of this stuff you genuinely wouldn’t believe if you didn’t see.
Some of my favourite parts included:
1. When you think it’s just one snake hunting in the first episode, and then so many came out. It was genuinely scarier than any horror movie I’ve seen before.
2. When birds steal stuff from each other’s collection, and the heist that occurred.
3. Seeing how the people of India’s relationship with religion impacts their relationship with certain animals.
Absolutely astounding.
David Attenborough, we don't deserve this legend.
It has been 10 years since the first Planet Earth came out, and have since been an inspiration to right about every nature documentary up to date. With this said, Planet Earth II doesn't have much new to offer, but it sure is stunning either way.
But camerawork aside, the set-up of the individual episodes sure are uninspired and predictable, leaving me wishing for more as we in rapid paste move from islands, through deserts, grasslands, jungles, mountains and finally arrive at cities. In every terrain we get one or two stupid bird behaviours, a long and crazy exciting hunt, goofy behaviour (aside stupid bird behaviours) with silly Attenborough commentary and one big animal brawl. With this scratching the surface…
Honestly it's a travesty that people look upon Planet Earth and Planet Earth II as just some wildlife documentaries. No, they're not. They're awesome!
No wait I can phrase that better
They're both MASTERPIECES!!!
