" I don't need to work out. My anxiety acts as aerobics. "
- Sidney Waterman(Woody Allen).
There is a certain quality to all of Allen's films. It is a warm comfort and feel good factor which they emanate. Be it a film which deals with unfaithfulness and murder as in Match Point or a reporter hot on the heels of a Killer, the feel good factor and the unique woody Allen touch remains intact. The ideas which he brings on to the screenplay, the characterization, the dialogues and his brand of, so effortlessly ingraining humour in each and every sentence, present the viewer with such a magical charm. And I am enchanted.
I just love the guy. He does…

Boring.
A really basic woody allen movie that feels like it's filling the time between good projects. The script is monotonous and goes on forever, the acting is very sing songy and unnatural, and the film just looks fine to me. In many ways, it is everything I dislike about Allen projects included in the same film and I didn't really care for it.
I wouldn't recommend, it's pretty forgettable.
Going into this, I was afraid Scarlett Johansson’s character was going to sleep with Woody Allen which is not something I would want to see or imagine; but thankfully she doesn’t and she sleeps with Hugh Jackman instead.
It took me about a half hour to get into this but when I did, I found it to be cute and enjoyable.
Can Scarlett Johansson be any more adorable? If she told me I had "wonderful enamel" I think I'd just melt.
Murder, magic, and mirth combine in Woody Allen's "Scoop," a handsome and comedic mystery with an outstanding group of actors. Casting himself in a supporting role, writer/director/star Allen keeps the energy at a slow boil and the focus on his leads, Scarlett Johansson and Hugh Jackman.
The plot mixes supernatural, journalistic, prestidigitatious, and romantic elements. While at a magic show, an American journalism student is contacted by a ghost with a clue in a murder investigation. Joining with the magician, the student works to track down the murderer and avoid falling for a dashing aristocrat. It is all standard Allen futziness awash in upper-crust English trappings.
The film moves at an admittedly meandering pace, though its cast and that cast's…
"Do you enjoy the McNugggets thing?"
Woody referencing McDonald's is very distracting.
I couldn't stand Woody Allen in this movie. He was so irritating with his slow talking and bad stuttering. The rest of the movie was just okay. I will probably forget about this movie in like 2 days or less.
Match Point is a dark melodrama with deeper psychological shadings than anything Wood Allen created since Hannah and Her Sisters. The characters and dialogue have an unexpected polish missing from the films immediately preceding it. Scoop, in contrast, represents a return to Allen’s past. If Anything Else is a reworking of Annie Hall, in a decidedly minor key, Scoop revisits Manhattan Murder Mystery, with a side trip to the mystery spoof The Curse of the Jade Scorpion.
In Manhattan Murder Mystery, the character played by Allen refuses to accept the assertions of his wife (Diane Keaton) that a neighbor has murdered his spouse. A similar plot unfurls in Scoop. Journalist Joe Strombel (Ian McShane) has died of a coronary, but…
how did woody allen get so much praise from the film industry is a case for the fbi
