I once used defibrillators on myself. I put shards of glass in my fuckin eye. I've jumped from a high-rise building using only a raincoat as a parachute and broke both legs upon landing - I still had to pretend I was in a fuckin Cirque du Soleil show. I've swallowed enough microchips and shit them back out again to make a computer. This arm has been ripped off completely and re-attached with this fuckin arm. During the threat of an assassination attempt, I appeared convincingly in front of congress as Barack Obama. I watched the woman I love get tossed from a plane and hit by another plane mid-air. I drove a car off a freeway on top of a train while it was on fire. Not the car, I was on fire.
Jason Statham is so good in SPY he should have won an Oscar and a Nobel Peace Prize.
just fantastic. there's a 2-second background gag where jessica chaffin's using her computer at the spy office to see what she'd look like with different hairstyles and it got me so good. the cast of this movie is just divine!! jason statham's finest hour. rose byrne's finest hour. one of melissa mccarthy's finest hours but not The finest because she's just that fantastic. the 'game' of this movie switches up so many times and she spins each successive plate like it's nothing. i truly think she's in a class of her own as far as currently working comedic actors go!
statham in a wig and mustache looks... kinda hot? really fucked up. not sure why we haven't gotten a sequel…
“When this is over, I’m gonna shave that fucking head.”
Bobby Cannavale’s running at the end. Fuck.
Rose Byrne is the greatest thing to happen to comedy since the invention of the microphone. To that end, perhaps the highest compliment that can be paid to Paul Feig’s frequently hilarious Spy, in which the Neighbors star plays a supporting part as a villainous Bulgarian arms dealer named Rayna Boyanov, is that Byrne is barely the best thing in it.
- The sneeze gag is such a good way to open this
- Her office has bats and rats and mine is still somehow shittier than this
- The Bond style opening credits and that awesome song
- I am so grateful someone finally remembered how funny Jason Statham is and cast him in another comedy. He steals the show and the ability to make fun of oneself always makes a guy hotter
- The way Law skillfully walks the line between being a clueless and arrogant jock and a nice guy
- Dude, that is a TURBO pink eye
- I love Rose Byrne's ridiculous hair, outfits and heels here
- "I almost put it up on YouTube"

This is a really great action comedy. Maybe Melissa McCarthy’s funniest. 😂
Rose Byrne referring to Miranda Hart as “this asthmatic big bird“🐥 made me laugh way too hard.
Whoever cast Jason Statham as an overly intense idiotic spy is a genius. Might be my favorite bad actor.❤️
On the downside, 2hrs 10mins is a ridiculously long runtime⏱️ for a comedy. Could’ve been trimmed a bit but would definitely recommend.
From what I've seen from Melissa McCarthy she should ONLY work with Paul Feig from this point on. I've liked her in Bridesmaids, The Heat, and now Spy. However, I have disliked her in most of the other films I've seen her in. For me Spy is McCarthy's best performance to date.
Spy is a hilarious, action-packed good time! Going in I was not expecting much action at all in this film; but there's actually quite a bit of it and it's very well done. The cast is pretty fantastic. I found McCarthy to be very funny and enjoyable. Jason Statham plays a really great moron. His performance is almost a self parody of himself as an actor. Rose Byrne....I…
Starring: The Bold, Bald, Gruff Action Man Jason Statham
None of the James Bond parodies and spy thrillers, even those in the same franchise, have ever been as brilliant as this one.
Everyone is at their prime here. It is without a doubt Paul Feig's best film, both as director and screenwriter. Although there are a few instances that don't hold up and can be a bit too dumb and eye-rolling, Melissa has never been better; in fact, this is the pinacle of her entire slapstick schtick. Statham parodying himself is as good as it gets; every time he appears on film, it's comedic gold. Every single member of the cast is superb. Every single song on the soundtrack is…
