  river phoenix is so sincere & gentle that i feel like he’s speaking directly to me when he tells gordie that he will protect his talent, support him, and fill the space of his dad. it’s like there’s a wall he’s always able to break through to provide a sense of comfort. he is a gift & i truly feel so loved and seen when i watch him
