  FUCK.

  I laughed. I cried. I got genuine, bona-fide chills. I cheered. I wanted to leap in the air and hug every human, droid, and alien in the vicinity. STAR WARS isn't just back, but fully expanded and revitalized. It's a genuine spectacle with enough history and operatic energy to fill every STAR WARS fan with undiluted glee and vicious emotion.

  I now believe in aliens, because JJ Abrams somehow convinced them to revive the essential spirit of the original STAR WARS trilogy. I don't know how you did it you crazy fuck, but somehow, this was everything that I wanted it to be and more.

  Chewie, we're home.

  first things first, BB-8 should be in every movie ever made. i understand that certain legal and logistical realities might make that difficult, but that's your problem. i'm sure disney's lawyers are perfectly reasonable people.

  BB-8 is the best character in the whole fucking galaxy. omg what if he's a death star??? what if somewhere in space there's a GIANT BB-8 ADORABLE DEATH STAR??? save us, colin trevorrow, you're our only hope. honestly, i would have been much more on board with Ex Machina if it was a turing test with BB-8. i care about BB-8. i love BB-8. and that shit is *legal.* all those "if you can marry a man, what's to stop you from marrying a dog?"…

  I've felt euphoria that I have never felt before. I laughed. I cried. I cheered. I have officially lived life. I will never forget this moment.

  J.J. Abrams has created something truly special. Star Wars: The Force Awakens might just be the greatest theater experience I have ever had. I was on Cloud 9. Magic was happening before my eyes. J.J. Abrams, I cannot thank you enough.

  Daisy Ridley...Daisy Ridley...DAISY RIDLEY! I am going to name my first-born daughter Rey. I am also going to marry Daisy Ridley. Don't try and stop me.

  Finn is fucking man. The chemistry between him and Rey was phenomenal. You could tell John Boyega was so excited to be in this movie.

  This movie RULES! It remains just as exciting, impactful, funny, and magical as it was 4 years ago. The New Hope rehashing surprisingly works for me, because the script and direction evoke a very different tone to that of the original Star Wars even though they follow the same plot beats. Sometimes the movie bends a little too far backwards to justify a New Hope parallel (Starkiller Base is the lamest shit ever) but for the most part, I'm really on board with this one.

  These characters are instantly lovable and relatable. Rey, Kylo, Finn, BB-8, etc. are all delights, and this movie gives me everything I could've wanted out of an older Han Solo before wrapping up his story…

  The insistent rhyming with A NEW HOPE is simultaneously its best and most restrictive feature, and certainly its most calculated. But it's lovely to be back in the texture of STAR WARS. If these movies mean anything to you, you will like this.
