Synopsis
Mario's world is falling apart.
2005 Directed by Cory Arcangel, Jacob Ciocci …
Mario's world is falling apart.
it reminded me of a teenage poem i wrote about a depressed mario, victim of labor exploitation, who was begging for the console to be turned off
Eventually settling into a rhythm, the glitches following a determined, heavily curated pattern tuned to the banging (in both senses) MIDI score; something something Duck Amuck. the princess is indeed in another castle.
All guys should learn from Mario Bros. No matter how far their princess is, they should go after her.
Headaches, nothing but headaches

The concept/idea alone is worth every one of these 48 points and then some, but the actual execution + the act of sitting through this glitchy kaleidoscope proves to be beyond tedious, borderline grueling if you don’t find high-pitched, remixed MIDI tracks pleasant to listen to for fifteen minutes straight. Nostalgia moonlights, of course—I mean, who doesn’t love and/or have fond memories of Super Mario Bros., as well as the occasional contorted screen when the cartridge was too dusty?—but isn’t enough to pare the overall monotony. Feel like this wouldn’t been so much better at about five or six minutes, less time between the seemingly random (?!) title screens, and a better sense of momentum, whether that be getting…
"This world is strobing me out."
A short film made in a rom hack. It tells an abstract story of Super Mario being stuck in a deteriorating cartridge but really it's just glitch art.
The glitchy music is very catchy at points.
It's on YouTube.
Nightmarish, psychedelic decay of pop culture iconography. Just the type of insane shit I’m a sucker for. Could’ve used more Goombas though.
