This movies answer to the fucked up idea of surveillance is give in... all the way in... fuck that.
The plot is an inevitable extreme parallel to companies like Apple and google. It’s a bit slow to get going, but it is a fine movie, much like everyone’s fake American accents... just fine. Who were these characters? Why is Mae so easily changed into this from being the introvert they started her out as? And when tragedy strikes, she doesn’t act logically at all. It felt unearned Oh, and who in the world was Mercer and why do I care? What really drives any of these people? Deep down...
I will not remember I watched this movie tomorrow, unfortunately. Especially since it could have been an important take pertaining to global big brother and accountability.
Tom Hanks is, as per usual, fantastic.
And Karen Gillian was SO good.
