Little bit tired of documentaries having an over reliance on drone shots, but admittedly the very last one in this film is pretty cool.
As someone not from Brazil it was a little hard to follow, and I was torn between wanting to praise it for not dumbing things down, but also criticising it for being hard for an outsider to follow (well, this outsider at least).
Presentation wise it’s okay, but maybe a bit dry in terms of how engaging it is, and with a less than amazing pace. Maybe it was highly acclaimed more for what it said rather than how it said it.
Still, it illustrates how division is elsewhere besides the US and the other western countries I’m more exposed to, especially when it comes to politics, which is scary. The documentary seems very pessimistic about Brazil’s future at the end of this, too, but I guess everyone will have to wait and see.
