I actually like it more than the original. The predictability isn't a problem given the fact that it's a remake and I'd already seen the original. All the moments with the ghosts are made to be more emotive than the original and I appreciate the change. Jessica Alba is also great as the leading actress and I quite liked the restaurant scene.
However, the premise still isn't great and while the film does try and ramp up the scares...they still don't quite deliver. The voice over dialogue in the beginning and end are atrocious and made me laugh with how overly dramatic they were. Better in many ways, but still carries the flaws of the original while adding one or two more.
