I was queerbaited. I thought it’d have this beautiful smart lesbian and her himbo best friend dynamic but it didn’t. I feel cheated.
Dreck, in every way. I think I just got conned into seeing a Christian propaganda movie and I'm not ok with it. The art about claiming a character to be a lesbian then having it turn out she was lying so they shoehorn in a more "traditional" romance made me want to break my TV.
I'm so confused by this movie. I watched The Healer just because Oliver Jackson-Choen was in it and once the credits were near, I was ready to say it was a bad movie and just move on.
But then, when they started showing pictures of Paul Newman and saying that "Healers" are real I was perplexed.
Why make this highly fictionalised movie were they basically depicted these people as having magical power instead of show us what they actually do. I don't get it.
What was the point of this movie???
I should start reading descriptions and stop relying on posters 😄
Thought this was going to be some cheesy romcom, but it ended up being a smack you in the face literal spiritual healer thing. It was cute at times, but the script doesn't know how to be subtle. And you won't believe the credits... had me in stitches 🤣.
... You aren't prepared for this level of 🧀 ...
Film was okay. There was a pivotal moment in this film where the lead character yelled at God in frustration, screamed and committed blasphemy, because of his lack of knowledge and in the end the writer decided to ignore such an extremely important plot point and decided to end the film 5 minutes later... 🤦🏻♂️
Don't get me wrong this film was very good, but I feel that I could write a better script.
Oliver Jackson Cohen is an amazing actor he did a great job. All things considered...
