I am shocked to tell you this movie is really fun and Samuel L. Jackson is great in it and if it had been on HBO when I was 15 years old I would have watched it 8,000 times.

The jokes are hit and miss, the plot is incredibly predictable, and it's way too long, but The Hitman's Bodyguard is saved by two very charismatic leads with great chemistry, fun action sequences, jokes that are really hilarious when they land, and a riot of a third act that's so much fun.

With the sequel coming up, I didn't know what to watch and found this on Paramount+ (finally, they are putting new content in the platform! They spent 2 months without a single update) so decided to rewatch this.
And it was a great rewatch. The movie starts off pretty fun, then slows down as Jackson's character is introduced. Then it picks up midway and never stops. This movie caught me off guard with its violence and sheer amount of destruction. I felt like it morphed occasionally from a 90s movie to an 80s film, then to a movie attempting to give these two decades a run for their money. A few of the fight stunts reminded me of The Raid…
