This film is a prime example of how magnificent acting can leave an overwhelming impression on you afterwards.
Nicole Kidman, Julianne Moore, Ed Harrisand Meryl Streep are all phenomenal. Each character embodies their own sense of depression, anxiety, loneliness, and heartache. It is a dive into these feelings that The Hours takes us.
For me, Nicole Kidman was perfect. I would watch an entire movie of her as Virginia Woolf. I don’t believe it could have been done any better.
On top of the acting is a brilliant score. It really plays nicely with the feel of the film and the emotions at hand.
This film is beautifully done, and I’m glad I didn’t see it until now because I don’t think I would have appreciated it as much in my late teens.
