  ofc the Kingsman films were always terrible with their reactionary politics and neoliberal/"centrist" fantasies that evoke imperial nostalgia, but this premise got me morbidly curious as to how they would reconfigure this fantastical/nostalgic framework within the context and setting of "history's worst tyrants and criminal masterminds." Found it hilarious when this prequel film tried to acknowledge Britain's history of genocide, imperialism, and colonialism as "bad" things - Ralph Fiennes even talks to his son about how their ancestors were "horrible people," purportedly to inform the audience that Matthew Vaughn is aware of…
